Job Club is vital for our tenants and learners in developing personal skills, their English skills, and also begins the journey into employment. It also reassures them that support is still there. This reduces the chance of them slipping into hopelessness and helps them develop and move on.
Our Job Club takes place every Tuesday afternoon between 2pm-4:30pm.
This drop in service provides assistance with CV writing, cover letters, job searches and applications for our service users. It’s a welcoming space where people of all ages and backgrounds come for education and employment support.
The service is very well attended by both our tenants, learners and members of the community. It is a service that requires a lot of support as most of the attendees have low English levels and basic IT skills.
We are looking for Jobclub mentors to build strong one-to-one relationships with Jobclub service users. Mentors will support their mentee/s to look and apply for work, get to know the local area and gain confidence with their job search and career aspirations.
Ideally we are looking for someone with good IT Skills and experience applying for work, local knowledge and importantly a patient and welcoming manner. Other languages including Arabic, Somali, or/and Kurdish would be a benefit but are by no means essential.
This is an ideal role for someone who is keen to gain experience in a thriving social enterprise, working with and supporting refugees into employment.
To apply please send a copy of your CV along with a short cover letter.
